Miep
Gies, Righteous Gentile
"...
Miep Gies has
suffered strokes in the last 2 years, and her knowledge
of several languages has nearly left her, but we managed,
mostly in German. Her first words, however, were in English.
Pointing to a poignant oil painting of a young girl looking
wistfully through a window, she said, "This is my Anne.
This is the real Anne, like I remember her."
